Appointment Formalities (AF)
I just came back from MOE for the Appointment Formalities (AF). It was very long, more than 2 hours. I reached there 45 minutes early and was told to go to the cafeteria first. There, I met one of the girls which I knew during the interview session. At 3.00pm we went to the 8th floor together at office tower building. Wow, the office tower building was a tad too grand I thought. You need to press the floor you are heading at one corner and then it will tell you which lift to proceed to because in the lift there is no floor number button.
There were so many declaration forms to fill up and sign and since I have not been writing for quite sometimes, I took a while to write neatly. Then the person explained about the benefits as a civil servant as well as the terms and conditions. I was so shocked to hear there are so many leaves; annual leave, medical leave, maternity leave, examination leave, marriage leave and childcare leave. She explained one by one until we understood but still I am a little confused over the different leaves available especially medical and annual leave. We have to be careful when applying for those leave. The code of conduct is a killer at times when reading it over and over again. There are so many expectations as a civil servant. I just go yaya papaya there.
As for the posting, most of them got posted to junior colleges. 2 of them were posted to
