The course was fun!
After so much contemplating, I have decided to change my number. I will do it soon. I received a letter from M1 that my promotional contract could be extended to another year if I want to. Having a subscription fee of S$13 with free incoming call, 150 minutes outgoing free, free outgoing to 3 M1 numbers and 1000 SMS, isn’t it so cheap? Besides, my Starhub contract will be due on October 07 and its reception is killing me. Imagine talking to someone halfway and suddenly the line was cut off. How irritating can that be? There are pros and cons to it actually. The advantage is that I can get rid of someone with my new number and save my money with the super cheap subscription but the disadvantage is that there are millions of people I need to inform. SO TROUBLESOME!! Urghhhhhhh
The 2 days course I attended on 8-9 May was a blast mann! So fun………..! Really! I mean its really a good revision for me. The trainers explained very clearly and we got to do hands on individually. Great mann! Whatever I was clueless about microbiology was answered during the course. Now I know how much LB agar to weight when I need to do agar plates for the students and most importantly the techniques used. You know I’ve been quarrelling with my senior when it comes to making agar plates. She die2 say after pouring the LB agar, you can’t close it if not the vapour will form. I told her she needs to autoclave before pouring it into the Petri dish but she die2 say don’t need and after pouring the LB agar, you’re suppose to close the Petri dish and she die2 say cannot. SO NOW AUNTIE YOU ARE WRONG AND I AM RIGHT!!!! You know how satisfied I feel when I get to sort of scold her and say she is wrong? I think Allah helps me a lot because all this while she always think she is right and I have to be patience with her and to think that its not even a month I’ve been working as a lab tech and still get to go for the course further shows that Allah helps me. All praise to Allah!
Anyway, It is nice meeting other SLTs from other school although we didn’t mingle that much. Most of them stayed with their own clique because both lab tech came together unlike me, I have to come alone. But sharing of experience was really a pleasure. They taught me a lot and its interesting to hear lab tech complaining about their HODs, their school etc. and that is when you realize that you should appreciate for what you have now because their problems are way too terrible for you to handle and you should be thankful you didn’t end up like them. *smiles* By the way, I was terribly teased by them during the course. You know why? Because its not even a month I’ve been working as a lab tech and I am already attending course. So when they start sharing their experience, sharing tips, I will go “huh? Wats that? Really ah?” During the course they’ve been talking about this SPA thingy but I really have no idea what is it all about. I was not told of this SPA thingy when I was in workplace. Finally, this lab tech from
The trainer was shocked I could load my samples into the well nicely and quite fast. He said “wah! U one man show can finish so fast and its nicely done somemore. The rest are struggling to keep their hand still.” Diao! Obviously I responded “I’ve done this many times before when I was in poly” and smile at him. Then I overheard the other 2 malay girls saying “eh stress seh nak masuk
So overall, it is really a good course. All lab tech should go for it. The trainer said training us is very enjoyable and easy unlike training the teachers. We are so obedient. The teachers talked while the trainer is talking and when asked to start their experiment, they did it wrongly because they never listen to instructions and once they are done, they didn’t clean up their workspace. Aiyah! Teachers will be teachers lah! Some of the teachers in my school are just like them. Cant help it.
Any familiar faces here? haha! confirm the republicans know who i am referring to. haha!
