DIBCamp was superb!
DIBCamp was super gerek lahhhh!! The kids were super duper cute and so do their voices!! So irresistible. Imagine them asking “kak, rogol tu ape?” during the tazkirah. I laughed and told them to listen to the story first. But when ustaz mentioned the word ‘rogol’ again, they asked me the same question. This reminded me of the rockclimbing session I had with the mentors and mentees a few month back. The mentees were asking each other “tasbih kafarah tu ape ah” when kak zakiah told us to recite tasbih kafarah and surah al-asr. So our job is to explain and guide them. However, I still believe guiding the kids are better than the youths. The kids listened to instruction whereas the youths, they don’t really care what you have to say and feel. Tanya sepatah jawab 10 patah. -_-
During the ta’aruf, the kids were so quiet but after the first activity, they started opening up since I told them this is teamwork and you must work together as a team. So they started talking to each other. =) Anyways, I was the facilitator together with ustaz Hilmi and khairuldin (wak) for our group, SID. I forgot to tell the kids to explain what our group name means but luckily ustaz Hilmi explained to the audience though it wasn’t quite clear and complete. I do believe the kids have learnt a lot from the one day camp. We got 1st place for the games and 2nd for the Arena night. We didnt manage to practice that much and we had to perform the skit dengan cara spontan lg. We only know how the storyline goes but didn’t really manage to practice that much cos the other 2 facis were busy. So during the preparation session for the Arena night, I just guide them on what they should do and react and alhamdulillah they managed to do it well. Marha marha! U guys rock mann! I was quite surprise the kids knew quite a number of religious hukum and practice it actually. Not everyone knows about it at this age and even if they do know they wouldn’t want to practice it but these kids are slightly different. When it is time to perform their ablution, some of the kids asked me “kak, macam mana nak bukak tudung? Ader lelaki kat belakang.” I was like hmmmmmmmm…. Akak pun tak blh buat pape ni. Mesti dalam hati dorg ckp kakak ni pun tak guna. Haha! I mean I cant possibly go up to them and say assalamu’alaikum, I am sorry but can you please move out from this area. The girls would like to perform their ablution and they cant possibly do it if you are hanging around here. -_- As I moved out from the front door, I saw a guy entering the same door to get to the kitchen. I was like “ehhh ape ni.. kat dalam ramai muslimat tgh sibuk btlkan tudung dorg step jek masuk dari pintu depan lg” Bleargh! I don’t like it actually. Mcm kesian muslimat2 ni ambik wudhuk pun takut2 cos the guys can just barge in anytime they want. So uncomfortable.
After the azan zuhur and asar usually got sunat prayer and these kids when they saw me standing, they thought I am going to pray my asar and they followed praying asar on their own. I was distracted by them at that point cos I heard them saying “eh kakak ni dah start sembahyang”. So in my head I know lah they got the wrong message. I wanted to tell them to sit in for the du’a and thereafter tell them about the sunat prayer which most kids don’t know but before the du’a habis, they pun salam me and lari. Typical kids but they are still cute and gerek to be with. Teheee.
